Loved painting these sunflowers fresh under my lamp.
Sometimes, I place fresh flowers on my kitchen counter "in the middle of it all" as I arrange them: a kitchen towel, a stray cup on the way to its saucer and tea, fruit from the market, a mason jar holding more flowers for the arrangement... and it looks so good. This is the look I wished to portray in "Sunflowers on the Kitchen Counter", the ordinary/extraordinary of every day.

This painting is executed in oils, a strong, stable medium that lasts for generations.

This painting is finished with one coat of Gamvar varnish which acts as a protective agent.

This painting was painted on art-grade, gesso-primed masonite or Ampersand Board, a sturdy, durable substrate 1/8" thick. The panel can easily be introduced into a ready frame or custom framed.
